Dave Adams became Senior Pastor of Mt. Zion in 2006. He has been on staff at Mt Zion since 1997 serving as Associate Pastor. Prior to that he served teaching the high school youth group, in children's ministry, and as an elder. Pastor Dave and his wife of 29 years, Pat live in McHenry, Illinois. They have four children and three grandchildren.

HELLO, I am John LaGalbo, Director of Mt. Zion House. I was born in Milwaukee, WI in April of 1958. I have been married to my beautiful wife Sharon since May of 1983. In November of 1985 we were blessed with our son Michael. I have been director of Mt. Zion House since its establishment in June of 1996 and am currently an Associate Pastor of Mt. Zion Christian Church. From 1992-1994 I was a facilitator, teacher, and counselor for a Christian based AODA group at Calvary Chapel in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I completed Biblical counseling courses and took advanced Biblical counseling courses at Calvary Chapel in 1993 - 1994 and was staff minister and church elder from 1994 -1996. I was Assistant Director at Calvary House in Ft. Lauderdale from 1994 - June of 1996. I have credentials as a CADC III that is recognized nationally and internationally in the AODA prevention field. I have over 20,000 AODA counseling hours and and have been a Biblical counselor since 1992. If you have any questions about Mt. Zion House or Mt. Zion Church I will be glad to answer them.

Hi, I'm Stephen Thorngate, Music Pastor at Mt. Zion Christian Church. With the help of my wife Lisa, I lead worship at the church, direct the choirs, and oversee the drama ministry. I have been leading worship for over 30 years and directing choirs for even longer than that. I am very old. I also teach history and music classes at Mt. Zion Christian School. I grew up many years ago in California and dreamed of becoming a music and drama teacher, or a history teacher, or maybe a pastor. I came to college in Wisconsin, and have lived here ever since. Lisa and I have been married since 1974 and have 7 children.  It is not unusual for one or more of them to participate with us on the worship team. I'd be pleased to answer any questions you might have about the music, drama, or worship ministry at Mt. Zion.

Michael Sandberg

Mt. Zion's Youth Pastor, Michael Sandberg, is one of our own, born 
and raised here in Lake Geneva.  His love for ministry began while he 
attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout.  While pursuing a degree in 
retail management he was active with Chi-Alpha, holding the 
Presidency for his senior year.  Michael worked for Lands End Direct 
Merchants for three and a half years-one year working in store 
management, the latter two in corporate sales.  During that time he 
served God's kingdom at Capitol City Church in Madison as a sunday 
school teacher and later, a Deacon.  In 1999, Michael was asked to 
consider the position of Youth Pastor at Mt. Zion.  Early in 2000, 
after prayer and petition to our Lord and Saviour, he accepted.  
Pastor Michael has been serving, teaching, investing, and loving 
teens of this community full-time since July of 2000.  He lives here 
in town with his wife of 10 years, Kerry, and his children, Caleb 
(age 5) and Hannah (age 2).  Michael is passionate about Truth and 
biblical world view.  He is driven by his desire for teens to know 
Christ and for them to realize that they are each known by an 
awesome, dependable, gracious, ever-lasting Father.

Mt. Zion is happy to introduce our newest member to the pastoral staff. His students call him Pastor Stevo.

Steve is thrilled to join Mt. Zion staff. Right from the start, he knew that people and relationships were going to be a large part of his life. When Steve gave his life over to Christ, his passion for serving the youth was born. A path had been lit and his heart’s cry was to boldly walk down that path.

After graduating from Elkhorn Area High School in 2004, Steve led Lake Geneva’s Young Life program for a year and a half, a ministry focused on serving local high school students. Hundreds of friendships among the teens were formed, and because of Christ’s love that was shown, many lives were transformed. 

Steve has been an integral part of Mt. Zion’s Youth Ministry, OneWay, and is very eager to continue being a part of the lives of the youth across Southeastern Wisconsin. 

Steve is a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He received his B.A. in Advertising, with a minor in Public Relations. He was hired by GWW Group Inc. as Product Manager for their Ameritage brand. He is responsible for the development, marketing and sales of this brand to the music industry. Steve is committed to serving Christ in both the business world, and in the youth ministry here at Mt. Zion.

When he’s not planning mattress football games or scavenger hunts to Chicago for OneWay or creating marketing strategies for Ameritage, he can be found snowmobiling, wakeboarding, working on his Mac, or maybe even sipping on a coffee at Caribou.
