Mr. Stephen Thorngate

(262) 248-5255, ext. 114

steve@mtzn.com

Steve Thorngate has been teaching 7th and 8th grade for 26 years, including 12 at Mt. Zion. This is mostly because as a new Christian he told the Lord, ". . . anything, except Junior High." Fortunately, he soon discovered that he loved teaching junior high students. At Mt. Zion, Mr. Thorngate has taught all subjects, but he is happiest teaching history. He was thrilled, therefore, when the school board told him in 2002-2003, "You're history." He also teaches music and likes to combine the two, mostly by singing very old songs. Mr. Thorngate doubles as the Minister-of-Music at Mt. Zion Christian Church. He and his wife, Lisa, have 7 children between the ages of 10 and 25, all of whom he has taught at Mt. Zion Christian School.
